THE PILE
 
We want everyone to be able to take responsibility for any needs that they can identify in any environment. One example is our bench/bed construction that supports both sitting and lying. The bench/bed consists of a simple wooden construction (reused wood) covered with tarpaulin. The bench/bed has been placed at different sites throughout the cities of Stockholm and Berlin, sites that are in lack of seatings and restingplaces.
  
 
 
The benches is very lightweighted so it is easy to carry around and transport them. We used our green van when we were placing them in the city.

New Beginings at SparwasserHQ, Berlin October 2000

The 21st of October 2000 the New Beginings crew visited SparwasserHq in Berlin. During a standard exhibition programme a series of events took place in the gallery. During the last event called "Extensions" New Beginings contributed with activities like radio transmissions, serving food and DJ-sets. Activities like live music and DJ-sets from the gallery were transmitted to benches prepared with radio receivers placed outside the gallery.
