We continuously install notice boards to enable basic civil communication as a part of the cityscape.

The boards are made of re-used materials and the ones shown here are boards that we have designed, built and installed on various locations.

Giant Noticeboard

In early September 2002, we tried a new tactic regarding our noticeboards. Previously we have done smaller boards and placed them on unused poles that we have found in Stockholm city. This time we tried to make a bigger board, 2,5m x 1,8m, and place it on a facade next to a cash dispenser. Here people that lined up to withdraw cash could read the postings or post themselfs.

The early boards where deliberatly made quite small and placed on anonymous poles to make them blend with their surroundings. The "giant" one was easily spotted even if one was not out looking for a posting place. The location we chose for it is one of the most heavily "postified" places in central Göteborg and also one of the most visited by anti-posters, and trust us, they are anti.
The "giant" board was placed on a facade that obviously was in care of some fussy caretaker. We put it up on saturday and had a couple of postings on it until it was taken down the following monday. We knew that it probably wouldn´t be such a good idea to make the boards bigger, but we had no idea that it would be taken down that rapidly. Hmm...
